Killarney to get a new post office

Killarney is to get a new post office. The Centra Foodstore on Fair Hill in the town has been awarded a license to start operating in the coming weeks. The owner Peter O'Grady applied for the license after the sub-post office on Park Road in Killarney closed last January. Hundreds of customers who were badly affected by the closure of the Park road office will welcome today's news. Making the announcement, a spokesperson for An Post said the company has been trying to source a new post master for the eastern side of Killarney for a number of months. Minister John O'Donoghue and Deputies Jackie Healy-Rae and Tom Sheahan are welcoming the decision.
