Over 18 million euro announced for road building and upgrading in Kerry

18.4 million euro is to be spent on road improvements in Kerry in the coming year. 4 million of that funding will be spent on the Castleisland by pass, while 900,000 will be spent on the Tralee by pass. 250, 000 euro will go towards the Farranfore to Killarney bypass, which will allow for the planning process to go ahead. Improvements from Lawlors cross to Killarney will be undertaken to the value of 700,000 euro.

Lisigiveen junction will get 400,000 euro, the Mountcoal junction in north Kerry will get 250,000 euro for safety measures to be installed. The Lispole bridge will be strengthened and the Laune bridge will be underpinned. The announcement has been welcomed by Ceann Comhairle John O Donoghue and Deputy Jackie Healy Rae.
